Where do you find inspiration?
Inspiration comes from the aggregate of what we do at DIALOG. I’m constantly discovering new layers of our Practice, people, and work. Our diversity in all of those is significant and is a deep pool of resource and inspiration that I encourage all DIALOGers to explore more of in their day-to-day.

What’s an emerging design technology or trend that has you excited?
Materials research has always been something I have followed and investigated. Biomimicry and reducing our impact on raw material extraction is critical to how our industry develops and maintains resiliency. Reducing our industries extraction of raw materials and use of harmful materials should be on the forefront of how we advance our work.

How do you hope your work positively impacts our communities and environment?
I’m primarily on transit work and see it as being a significant influence in connecting and transforming communities. I’ve been fortunate enough to see transit projects to completion and operation, with significant city-transformational impacts to the better. Being involved in developing and delivering these types of projects are rewarding on multiple levels, from the pragmatic project delivery side, to the highest level of being part of a transformational initiative.

What’s one ‘Pro Tip’ you live by?
Show up everyday. Bring hustle, be curious, and humble enough to know that you don’t know everything but are willing to learn.

I get to sculpt and transform communities. How lucky! I feel so fortunate to be able to work on projects that form and define the communities in which we live. I can see my projects throughout my home city and in other communities. Being connected to these projects and to know their life may long outlive my time is truly humbling.
